Dear Customers of North Vernon Municipal Utilities,
Our front door will remain closed due to the condition of the sidewalk, we wanted to remind you of the many different ways you can pay your bill. We currently take payments by credit or debit card over the phone with no additional charge.
You can also pay online for FREE; you will need to have your account number, service address and amount of your bill. Please visit us at https://www.northvernon in.gov/departments/utilities.php or scan the QR code with your smart phone. We also are allowing customers to drop off their payment at Old National Bank in North Vernon (no cash), located across the street from McDonald’s. This facility will only accept checks and you MUST have your bill with you, so they can attach it to your payment. You can also access our office through the City Hall Building, customers can drive down chestnut and park in the back parking lot. Once you enter the glass doors behind City Hall there are signs inside to direct you to the billing office.

The Utility Billing Department is housed within the Water Services Department at the Carnegie City Hall building (next door to the Mayor's office on Walnut Street). The division is responsible for processing the following (all billed monthly on the same utility statement):
- Water Services Fees
- Sewer Service Fees
- Sanitation Fees
- Stormwater Management Fees
You will need to come into the office with your photo ID and a $100.00 cash or check. This is a meter deposit that will be applied to your final bill if you were to move/close the account. If you are renting you will need to bring your lease/contract. Please be aware the services may not be connected for up to 24 hours after the signing of your contract.
If you are moving out of your residence, you must contact the utility department at least 24 hours prior to the date of disconnection, during business hours. Your meter deposit will be applied to your final bill, you are responsible for any remaining charges.
The North Vernon Municipal Utilities office does not transfer deposits.
