Officer Edward P. Fowler End of Watch: September 21, 1925 Officer Edward Fowler was shot on September 21, 1925 at 1:20 AM as he approached 2 suspicious men on the edge of town. The men, unknown to Officer Fowler, were car thieves and shot Officer Fowler 2 times in the stomach. Officer Fowler returned fire. Later that day Officer Fowler died. Hundreds of outraged towns people responded for the manhunt. The killers were never found.

Officer Frank McKinsey End of Watch: January 16, 1915 Officer Frank McKinsey was killed in the line of duty. Officer McKinsey was attempting to arrest two men suspected of robbery at the B&O railroad depot. One of the men produced a handgun and shot Officer McKinsey three times. Officer McKinsey died the next day as a result of the injuries. The men fled the scene and were never apprehended.

Officer Gustive Schwake End of Watch: September 23, 1903 Officer Gustive Schwake was killed in the Line of duty. Officer Schwake was sent to a domestic dispute to locate the aggressive husband. When Officer Schwake arrived he was immediately confronted with a shotgun. The man fired on Officer Schwake and he died in the front yard of the home. The suspect fled the scene and committed suicide.
