This paved walkway was completed in late 2016  and is a community favorite.  With a mile of paved trail in the heart of our downtown area, it's a great location to get that evening or afternoon run in. Trail starts at the West entrance parking area of the Muscatatuck Park where you will also find a filtered water bottle refilling station.  The trail goes north from there to the North Vernon mini-park or into downtown North Vernon. Parking for trail can be found at Muscatatuck Trail and at the Mini Park.  There is a bench located along path as well if needed.
Watering Station is available at this location for you (water fountain & water bottle refill) and a watering bowl for your pet.

This is one of our top spots  for all things trails.  Although this park has more to offer than just trails, we can't help but boast on them!  With close to 10 miles of trails, you are sure to find the one the fits your needs. From early Saturday morning strolls as the sun rises, to an afternoon of an intense biking workout in full sweat, this park has you covered. The majority of the trails are available for walking, running and mountain biking.  Mountain bike trails are designed for three levels of expertise that are beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  The courses wind along inside the wooded areas within the park and some alongside the Muscatatuck River and are readily marked.  With each twist and turn you are bound to unwind from your busy days of life feeling refreshed and reconnected. Restrooms  are available at this location.

Tripton Park

The newest dev elopement for the City of North Vernon.  This park has over 55 acres of rolling lands with several features that include outdoor exercise area and self directed fitness equipment but that's not why we mentioning this park.  What we love is the paved trails that takes in the full view of all the beautiful scenery of this park.  Run, walk and bike on these trails with space for the whole family without the worries of traffic.  Restrooms and water stations are available at this location.

Calli Nature Preserve

With the highest possible rating of 5.0 on Trip Advisor, this park has been labeled "A Hidden Gem."  This nature preserve is more than scenery, it also boast one of the best trail systems in our region.  Want to be in on a secret that only locals know about?  The most elaborate and breath taking surprise in this place is our blue bells.  During blooming season our blue bells could be an event all on their own and make a great Instagram shot.  Don't just go by the the ravings of all the online reviews, plan your trip & come see for yourself.
